Pre-Purchase Inspectors Overview

Introduction

Report Systems Australia Pty Ltd (A.B.N. 39 002 410 835) has developed handbooks and standardised inspection and reporting formats and associated paperwork relating to pre-purchase property inspections of existing residential buildings.

The aim of the handbook guidelines is to help inspectors produce a uniform assessment of a property, thereby reducing the risk of errors or omissions in reports and associated consumer misunderstandings and/or complaints.

Over the past 10 years, the handbook system has received the support of major insurers who offer insurance products in conjunction with handbook system including preferential inspector professional indemnity insurance.

Handbook – Standard Property Inspection Reports – Residential Buildings

The third edition handbook and associated inspection reports have been updated to take into consideration the new Australian Standards AS 4349.1-2007 & AS 4349.0-2007.

Handbook – Standard Timber Pest Detection Reports

In addition to AS 4349.3-1998, the third edition handbook and associated inspection reports take into consideration the new Australian Standard AS 4349.0-2007.
